When you are out in the hills of New Zealand with Ray or one of
the guides from Upclose Safaris, sitting in the fern not ten yards
from the trophy of a lifetime, waiting for that perfect shot you
really know that you’re ALIVE.
Upclose Safaris is not a livestock merchant. Upclose Safaris deal
in adventure, adrenaline and memories. We want our customers to
leave us exhausted, with no arrows or bullets left, hobbling on
sore legs and wearing a smile so big that it hurts.
Specialising in bow hunting, however if you wish to hunt with anything
from a spear to a sniper rifle we will find some adventure to suit
your needs.
The rolling to steep hill country covered in a mix of pasture, scrub
and native or exotic forests provides the perfect environment for
exciting “spot and stalk” and “still” hunting
with wonderful opportunities to get in really close to some magnificent
animals.
Your host and guide Ray Potroz is a passionate outdoorsman. Bow
hunting, pig hunting, deer stalking, trout fishing, it doesn’t
really matter because Ray loves it all and will do his level best
to make sure you have a ball in the outdoors Eldorado that we call
New Zealand.
Ray is a mad keen bow hunter himself and has taken each species
that Upclose Safaris offers by bow. Which means he knows how to
get in real close to these animals. This means he can expertly
guide you to within range of the quarry and let you take the shot
of a lifetime.
